Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season! Mine has been wonderful thus far and I am looking forward to Christmas. Napa is beautiful this time of year. First, the leaves turned the most brilliant red, yellow and orange. Now, the breezes have picked up somewhat and the leaves are falling. The season is changing again. We are getting ready for the rains. I don’t suppose there is a bad time of year in Napa. I have enjoyed every season.
Thanksgiving was good to us this year! We had dinner with family at our house. 2 turkeys, one fried and the other smoked. They were both delicious. The dinner continued with all the trimmings. We had stuffing, cranberry and sweet potatoes. And the meal wouldn’t be complete without mashed potatoes and Calvados gravy!! There were pies, blondie bars, puppy chows and MANY wines. We did one day of wine tasting at Outpost and Behrens’s Family. Delicious!!
I plan to take a road trip, pre-Xmas starting in Napa and heading up north. I want to take the Coastal highway and travel all the way up to Vancouver to ski and stopping all along the way to EAT! If you have any recommendations, send them my way. We are driving all the way up through Oregon stopping in Portland and through Washington- Seattle and crossing the border and taking a 3 hour ferry ride! I am so excited!!
In the spring, I plan to travel to Europe. More info to come!! I am on an eating journey I call life. Better hit the trail to exercise. ☺
